Introducing the Williams Family!!

Hello, This is my very first post and I am not quite sure how everything works. Mike told me its like a monthly or weekly christmas card. So, I will start with the month of April. It has been very exciting, stressful, exhausting but rewarding. On our 36 week doctors appointment Dr.Cox noticed I was measuring smaller than I was the week previous. he told us to go get an ultrasound and check to make sure everything was fine. The next day, Thursday, we went to our ultrasound where they found that my amniotic fluid was low and it was dangerous to continue the pregnancy. After the doctors we started running around all day Thursday trying to prepare ourselves and our house for the baby we thought was coming 4 weeks later. At 1:30 am the hospital called and told us to come in and start the process of being induced. After 26 hours of labor at 3:30 I finally got the Epidural. After which was smooth sailing. By 8:10 on April 9, 2011our beautiful baby boy was finally here and he was 5lbs. 6oz.We named him Carter Michael Williams. When he was born he had a little bit of labored breathing and the nurses needed to give him oxygen and take him to the NICU. I thought it would be a couple of hours I knew that he was early but I felt like he was healthy. Throughout the next week Mike and I were in and out of the NICU. Feeding and trying to grow close to our little Carter. He needed fluid IVs and a feeding tube and during the week his billy rueben was pretty high which they put him under the phototherapy lights. He liked the lights he looked like he was tanning. By Sunday we took him home and have been holding him constantly and taking a million pictures kissing his increasingly growing cheeks. We love our beautiful baby I feel so blessed to live in the day and age of technology where they can tell if there is something wrong and safely bring the perfect miracles to earth. I'm exciting to finally be a part of the blogging world and hope those of you who read this enjoy it greatly! :)
